Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a profound, yet subtle and gentle approach which utilizes the human body’s natural ability to heal itself. The central nervous system has a lot of influence over your health and well-being. Few body systems have more impact on the CNS than the craniosacral system – the soft tissues and fluid that surround and protect your brain and spinal cord. The body absorbs stresses and strains over time and our body's can only endure so much before the tissues begin to tighten and affect the brain and spinal cord. Unfortunately, this can compromise the function of the central nervous system and nearly every other system in the body.
Since CranioSacral Therapy is so gentle, it is safe wellness session for virtually anyone, including infants, elderly, chronically ill people, pregnant women, and children. There are a few times, however, where CST is not advisable. Please check with your doctor upon proceeding. Contraindications: Any condition where a change of intracranial pressure would be harmful. *Immediately after a recent stroke or aneurysm. *A recent unevaluated closed head injury.
BCST is about restoring the nervous system back into a state of balance with subtle rhythms of movement that are natural expressions of health. A therapists' calm centered presence aids a resourced nervous system to innately guides itself to remember its' optimal function. Sensing this safety, ones' system begins to unfold and reorganize towards a more communicative state. Trauma from pre-conditional forces such as accidents, whiplash, illness, birth affects and psycho-emotional or social experiences can disentangle from the body without disrupting these delicate internal environments. BCST encourages these natural, fluid systems to reestablish a harmonious, whole body flow for improved long term wellness including emotional mental health aspects. The recipient is fully clothed during the session.
After a series of treatments which vary for each individuals system, due to their life experiences, clients report coming into more emotional mental health or a relationship with their own body between 3-5 sessions at a minimum.
* BCST clears restrictions or held energy in the tissues of the body.
* BCST assists better sleep patterns, mental clarity and personal focus.
* BCST encourages physical longevity, emotional stability and energized life.
* BCST improves whole nervous system and immune health with organ functionality.

This method utilizes the feet’s natural “signal” system to establish balance, elevate your life energy and renew cells in the body. Now known as Reflexology.

What Is Aromatherapy? Aromatherapy is the use of aromatic essential oils derived from plants for the purpose of enhancing the well-being of one's physical or psychological health. To create essential oils, the natural oils in certain plants are extracted and distilled, resulting in an extremely concentrated product packed with healing benefits. Essential oils engage a response in the brain that sends messages to the body. By inhaling essential oils, nerves in the nose, trigger powerful brain responses. Similarly, topical application (with a carrier oil) allows these essential oils to quickly enter the bloodstream by being absorbed through skin tissue. DoTerra has very specific quality reassurance process from start to finish, to ensure their products. These may be offered in a Thai Massage Bodywork session also.
The recipients back and feet are exposed in order to apply the essential oils, lying face down on a massage table. As an old holistic system of health, known for its light tough techniques & clinical approach, it enhances emotional mental health through the recipients’ central nervous system, optimal immune system & organ function related to spinal connectivity, whole body renewal & re-balancing, positively supporting the body’s healthy autonomic function, giving wellness opportunity to unwind and let go of residual possible toxic build up that the body was unable to release fully on its' own.

'Thais believe that good health and freedom from pain result from the unhindered flow of vital energies through the body's connective tissues and with regular, cumulative Thai yoga massage sessions, muscles resume their normal resting length, which deceives the brain into 'thinking' that all is well and it reduces chronic tightness, increases circulation and for joint mobility restoration. It is said to free the trapped energy vortexes or holding patterns where tension and pain reside'.
This session works hand in hand with Acupuncture, Acupressure or TCM, enhancing emotional mental health.

Well-known methods of somatic education include Clinical Somatic Education (also known as Hanna Somatic Education), Gentle Somatic Yoga ( Thomas Hanna Somatics ) the Feldenkrais Method and the Alexander Technique. Many include the use of hands-on movements, guided by a certified practitioner and self-care movements, practiced by the student on a regular basis at home. Our role is to empower students to take responsibility for themselves by repeating the tools so change is sustained over a long term regime, improving their posture, movement and function cumulatively in their lives.
We experience Sensory Motor Amnesia (SMA) when the brain forgets how to relax tight, contracted muscles that are, in effect, on “cruise control. ”The Sensory and Motor Cortex" are area of systems in your brain that receive information from the environment and allow us to respond accordingly through movement. As we experience stress in various forms, we develop habits that result in storing pain and tension subconsciously. In effect, the brain forgets how to move the muscles and also forgets which muscles are contributing to the pain, therefore muscles stay contracted. What to Expect : Somatics is incredibly safe with its approach of gentleness, listening to the body’s signals while movement takes place. The important technique we use, called “pandiculation” is very slow, controlled voluntary motion. This slowness is the fastest way to change the signals from brain to muscle and the pace enhances strengthening. Pause and rest after movement flows, encourages the brain to reset and calibrate while repetition solidifies the healthy pattern of movement. It brings the muscles to optimum resting length and function.
“ Hello there, at 34 years old I was diagnosed with young onset Parkinson's disease after encountering severe stiffness and difficulties using my arm, as well as noticing a change in my otherwise pleasant disposition. Virginia's name came up via a local support group and the abbreviations BCST. So I looked into this form of treatment called Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy and saw her the following week. I was a bit skeptical at first but after the first couple of sessions my mind and body were put at ease by her touch and ability to connect and sense how I felt and where I was not well. I would leave feeling like I had the ability to sleep that night, after not sleeping properly for days during my medication trial and error phase. Overall I felt my mood was elevated, my body was more balanced and I was less tense. I would highly recommend her to anybody looking to improve their quality of life, Illness or not. Her training and genuine concern for your well-being are immediately apparent from the first session and the benefits follow. Keep up the good work; you have a great skill set that has to be experienced. Thank you” - Richard, Former Manager
I am a horse trainer assistant and am always shoveling and taking care of the horses, noticeably from my right side, as Virginia pointed out after assessing my posture. I showed her that my right thumb couldn't fold into my palm, due to repetitive work patterns. I was shocked when Virginia educated me on these slow movements and the effects on brain rewiring. Within 3 minutes of completing a hand exercise with her assistance, she had me rest for a few breathes. I was in complete awe when we retested and that I gained an 80% range of movement of my thumb. Thank you so much for your knowledge and training in Somatics so I can take home these self-care tools. I promise to remember to do a little each day to reprogram my bad habits. - Kendra, 28 year old female Victoria, BC
I am a banking executive who had a car accident 18 months ago and I'm in severe pain on my left side. Virginia explained how my nervous system was likely in hyper-arousal and how the calming affects of BCST and Somatics benefited her system after her MVA. She assessed my range of motion in my left hand and shoulder, then applied a few movements while I concentrated on a smooth slowing exhale. She interrupted me with purpose, had me inhale and exhale again until it was smooth. We paused for regular breaths and then retested my range. Much to my surprise I had more ease and flexibility in squeezing my hand and then the tightness at my neck and shoulder had decreased from an 8 to a 5. All of this in a matter of 20 minutes at a trade show!! Thanks Virginia for making me feel safe and giving me hope. - Vicky, 58 years old
